“I commenced working with Rhy at the beginning of 2021 when I started speech pathology sessions with a common client of ours.
Rhy is extremely knowledgeable in her understanding of AAC and literacy. She has an extensive background in editing, customising and the backing up of Proloquo2go communication systems. She has sound knowledge in how to use AAC and the importance of communication partners ‘teaching’ the child/AAC user how to use their communication system through extensive modelling.
Rhy takes on advice willingly and is always happy to give any suggestions or activity ideas a go. Rhy understands her clients so well on so many different perspectives and has such a fantastic relationship with our common client. “Rhy has been supporting our family for a year. She is our son Angus' therapy assistant and assists us with some respite also.
She is bright and bubbly and always arrives with a big bag of fun that immediately engages Angus. Rhy initially came to some speech and OT appointments with us so that she was able to get a good grasp on Angus’s needs. This enabled her to understand our short- and long-term goals and also to develop a relationship with our wider team.
Rhy checks in on our family between visits when she knows we have been struggling, she has been a big emotional support to me especially on the days when things have seemed all too much. She has lessened the load of being Angus’s therapist/Mum allowing me to focus on enjoying our time together just being his Mum.”
